In 1983, deaf golfers from all over Rochester, New York gathered together and started a new deaf golf league. After a successful year, they formed a new organization, name the Greater Rochester Deaf Golf Association. The organization's purposes are to provide golf competition, social gatherings and golf instruction opportunities for all different levels of deaf golfers.
